Pune-based Avan Motors Launches Xero And Xero+

Pune-based electric scooter manufacturer, Avan Motors, has launched two new electric scooters for the domestic market. Called the Xero and Xero+, the e-scooters are priced at Rs 55,000 and Rs 85,000 (all prices, ex-showroom), respectively.

The Xero and Xero+ sport a rather conservative design. While the Xero is placed as an entry-level model, the Xero+ is a more performance-oriented offering. Both scooters sport features such as a digital instrument console, safety parking brake, a top box, mobile phone charger slot, LED turn indicators, three riding modes and panel guards as standard.

Pune-based Avan Motors Launches Xero And Xero+

The entry-level Xero packs a 250W electric BLDC (brushless DC) motor powered by a 48V lithium-ion battery, giving it a range of 70km and a top-speed of 25kmph. The performance-oriented Xero+, on the other hand, gets an 800W motor powered by a dual-lithium-ion battery. According to the company, the Xero+ can achieve a top speed of 45kmph with a range of 110km. Both scooters take around 4 hours to charge completely.

Both scooters share the same frame equipped with a telescopic fork at the front and a spring type suspension at the rear. The braking setup consists of a disc brake at the front and a drum unit at the rear.

Currently, the company has no dealership network to speak of. Instead, the company provides a a doorstep service for test rides, purchase and servicing. For now, the company only operates in Pune. However, it plans to extend its reach to other cities by the end of this year.
