To celebrate 60 years of Porsche Clubs, the company has launched a special limited edition car - the 911 Club Coupe, so exclusive that only 12 will ever be sold

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the first two Porsche Clubs in the world, the first of which was founded by seven gentlemen in Westphalia, Germany in 1952, and the second started by another six gentlemen a few months later, the German sports car maker has certainly conjured up a treat. Even though Porsche clubs now have 181,000 members among 640 Porsche Clubs in 75 countries, it has decided to honour the original 13 members with an exclusive car – the Porsche 911 Club Coupe. And Porsche will make only 13 of these cars - 12 for sale and one for the Porsche museum.

The design of the 911 Club Coupe is based on the 911 Carrera S Coupe and is emphasized by the classic ‘Brewster Green’ exterior colour chosen from the special range of Porsche individual colours.

Contrasting the paint scheme are the trim strips which feature a high gloss finish, as well as the ‘911 Club Coupe’ lettering which is present in a decorative film on the doors. The car also features Porsche’s standard Sport Design Package, which comes replete with a chin spoiler up front as well as the classic ‘duck tail’ spoiler at the rear, making this super-exclusive 911 look distinct from every angle. And it’s the same story on the inside as well. The Club Coupe features interiors swathed in full natural leather in Espresso with stitching in Luxor Beige. Accents such as the air vents including louvers or the seat backrests of the Sports Seats Plus with natural leather in Espresso and a decorative stitching in Luxor Beige illustrate the craftsmanship and attention to detail from Porsche Exclusive.

At the back is the Carrera S 6-cylinder naturally-aspirated boxer engine with direct injection which now produces 430 horses (that’s 30 more than the regular Carrera S!), all thanks to modified cylinder heads and camshafts and a newly developed variable resonance-type intake system with switchable flaps. And for an even sweeter exhaust note, the Club Coupe features a sports exhaust system with two dual tailpipes. The uprated engine, which now rests in a new engine bay styling with a titanium-colored cover and carbon fibre inserts, when clubbed with Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch gearbox, can propel the Club Coupe from zero to 100km/h in just 4.0 seconds.

Giving the car great dynamic ability is the Porsche Active Suspension Management system with electronically controlled damping and two manually controllable electronic maps including an ability to lower the suspension by 20 mm. The wide 245/35 ZR-rated tyres at the front and 305/30 ZR-rated tyres at the back sitting on massive 20-inch rims provide plenty of grip through the corners too.

Adding more exclusivity to the car is a door trim strip which a personalized laser engraving "911 Club Coupe – personally built for" and the name of the client. Considering that only 12 of these cars will ever be sold to the public, it’s quite a necessity too. But production numbers so low means only one thing for most car lovers – that most of us are certain to never see one of these on the road in our lifetimes.
