Is the most hardcore 911 on offer currently

The Porsche Centre in Bangalore is home to a very special 911 at the moment. While there are plenty of examples of the German supercar on Indian roads, this one is a tad different and a tad serious too. The track-focused GT3 RS has landed on Indian soil for a very special customer. While Porsche has officially unveiled the car for India, they refuse to comment on price, citing it as a one-off.

What makes the GT3 RS special? Well, for starters it has been relentless in its pursuit of shedding weight. Anything that is considered 'heavy' has been chucked out for lighter composite materials. For instance, the roof is forged out of magnesium and the roof and engine lid is made out of reinforced carbon fibre. What's more, there are a few aero tweaks to make the RS the 'closest road-legal race car'. As a throwback to the old air-cooled 911s, it gets a recess on the luggage compartment, which we think looks supercool! There's an air vent on the front fender that increases downforce over the front axle, and then there's the massive rear wing too.

Interiors

The interiors of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS are based on the current 911 GT3. It gets full bucket seats made of visible carbon a la 918 Spyder. Features include a bolted-on roll cage, a six-point safety harness for the driver and a fire extinguisher as well! Why the race-spec safety harness and extinguisher, you ask? Because power is derived from a 4.0-litre, flat-six motor that belts out a humongous 500PS of power and an equally eye-watering 480Nm of torque that lets it rocket to 100kmph in just 3.3 seconds. With the pedal buried to the floor, it will hit 200kmph in a smidge under 11 seconds. In case you need more proof of how fast the GT3 RS is, the friendly neighbourhood Nurburgring nerd will tell you that it is a full nine seconds quicker around the green hell compared to Porsche's Carrera GT. We can only sigh looking at the pictures!
