The car borrows a few features from the Ameo

Polo ALLSTAR Edition

Volkswagen had unveiled the Polo ALLSTAR in the Indian market a month back. VW has officially announced the prices of the car and the special edition hatchback is available at a price of Rs 7.51 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). Here's a look at what the Polo ALLSTAR edition offers.

On the outside, the car gets a fresh new design for its alloy wheels, which are shod with the same 185/65 R15 tyres as the standard Polo. The car also features 'ALLSTAR' badging on the B-pillars and it's available in the Silk Blue paint shade that was introduced with the Ameo compact sedan. While you can have it in the standard Polo's Reflex Silver, Candy White, Flash Red and Toffy Brown shades, the Copper Orange and Carbon Steel paint schemes will not be available with this edition.

The interiors get a lot more changes than the exterior. The Polo ALLSTAR, just like the Ameo, features a front centre armrest with storage, rear AC vents, aluminium floor pedals, new seat upholstery with vertical contrast stripes, and ALLSTAR-branded door sill plates.

Mechanically, the ALLSTAR is available both in petrol and diesel engine options which are shared with the standard Polo. The petrol engine is a 1.2-litre MPI motor capable of producing 75PS of power and 110Nm of peak torque while the diesel is the 1.5-litre TDI mill that churns out 90PS of power and 230Nm of torque. Both of these engines will be coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Polo ALLSTAR will continue to go up against the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the Hyundai Elite i20.
