The next-gen Fiesta would be bigger and technologically advanced and might make a comeback in India in the next two years

The next-gen Ford Fiesta has been spied for the first time wearing heavy camouflage. The car is expected to be launched in European countries by 2017. This all-new Fiesta will replace the current hatchback the world over. The Fiesta sedan, available in the country a few months ago, is an extension of the current gen Fiesta hatchback. However the Fiesta saw some ill fate in India as it didn’t tick the C-segment sedan buyers’ fancy and wasn’t able to carry forward the huge fanbase the previous generation Fiesta (aka Fiesta Classic) created.

Speaking of the spied vehicle it looks a little larger than the current gen car while still keeping a fair amount of resemblance to the current car at the fascia. Other design highlights are expected to be a wider grille opening and swept-back headlamps, largely similar to Ford’s family lineup. The car is also set to be longer in terms of wheelbase which will make the interiors liberal in terms of space. The interiors are speculated to get an upmarket treatment and might boast of a new touchscreen infotainment with the renowned SYNC 3 software.

Under the skin, the next-gen Fiesta will ride on the same Ford Global B platform as the current car, but with many changes and enhanced refinement. Power is expected to be sourced from an all-new series of inline three-cylinder turbo motors, along with the award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost.

Speaking of the Fiesta’s Indian comeback Ford might bring it back somewhere in early 2018, maybe with a new packaging and a better marketing strategy than it used before.
