Expected to be launched by 2018, the next-gen Toyota Camry was caught testing recently and will be receiving few upgrades

Next Generation Camry

The seventh generation Toyota Camry was originally introduced in August 2011, and then at the 2014 New York International Auto Show it was displayed in an all new avatar. Now, Toyota is coming up with their eighth generation Camry.

As seen in the spy shots that were published by Motor 1, the car has been heavily camouflaged. There’s not much that can be concluded about the exteriors, but as seen on the test mule the car has got door-mounted wing mirrors and it might be getting a new set of tail lights with a newly tweaked bumper too. The car also seems to get a boot-lip spoiler.

Next Generation Camry

The next generation Camry is said to be underpinned by Toyota’s NGA-C platform, which is a new version of the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform. It will most likely be offered with an updated version of the current 2.5-litre Dual VVT-i naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 178 PS, and the 235 PS VVT-iW unit that powers the Lexus NX. As with the current variant, the upcoming Camry will also be provided with a hybrid engine too.

Next Generation Camry

The seventh-generation Toyota Camry is expected to have its world premiere sometime in 2017 and it will most likely go on sale as a 2018 model. It’s a little too early to speak about the Indian launch of the next-generation Camry, but one thing is sure - its hybrid variant will be available in the market thanks to the current one’s success.
