New Tata Tigor XM Variant Launched At Rs 4.99 Lakh

XM variant will bridge the gap between the XE and XT variant

The Tigor has not been the best selling sub-4 metre compact sedan Tata hoped it would be. To turn the tide in its favour, Tata has now launched a new XM variant of the Tigor
Like the other variants of offer, the new Tigor XM is available with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.05-litre diesel engines producing 85PS/114Nm and 70PS/140Nm, respectively. It also gets the same 5-speed manual gearbox. Over the base XE variant, the XM comes with additional features such as:
-Full wheel covers
-Front and rear power windows
-Full fabric seat upholstery
-Theatre dimming interior lamps
-ConnectNext Harman Infotainment System
-LED fuel gauge
-Follow-me-home lamps
-Speed-sensing auto door locks
-Manual central locking 
In terms of safety, Dual Airbags and ABS with EBD remain absent in the XM variant as well. It also misses out on other features such as parking assist, front fog lamps, rear defogger and day & night IRVM.
The petrol-powered XM is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), which is about Rs 40,000 more than the XE variant (Rs 4.59 lakh) and Rs 29,000 lesser than the XT variant (Rs 5.28 lakh). The diesel version is priced at Rs 5.81 lakh, which is Rs 40,000 more than the XE variant (Rs 5.41 lakh) and is about Rs 29,000 cheaper than XT variant (Rs 6.1 lakh).

The XT variant remains the more value for money option than the XM variant as it is equipped with safety features like ABS,EBD, rear parking assist with sensors, front fog lamps, day/night IRVM and rear defogger. It also comes with electrically adjustable ORVMs with LED turn indicators, a cooled glove box, height-adjustable driver seat and central locking with flip remote key.

The Tigor XM variant will be available in a phased manner across Tata Motors dealerships starting September 15, 2017.
