Hyundai, one of the largest car makers in the world, showcased the next generation Verna at the 2016 Beijing Motor Show earlier this year. Now, the production version of the 2017 Verna will make its debut at the upcoming Chengdu Motor Show. However, the car has been spotted sans any camouflage in China much ahead of its global launch.
The next generation Verna's styling remains the same to that of the concept, though they have tweaked the light clusters, bumpers, wheels and grille a little bit for the final production model. The car's design relies on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language.
The car has been made sportier than its predecessor by increasing the length, width, wheelbase and by reducing its height by 5mm, and the increased dimensions of the car could probably also mean more space for the passengers.
Two variants of the Verna have revealed -- one a base variant which features halogen headlamps, steel wheels, and a chrome surround grille; while the second variant is the top-end model and has features such as projector headlamps with LED and daytime running lights (DRL), a chrome-finished grille, large alloy wheels, a sunroof and fog lamps.
The Verna is expected to be offered in only the petrol version in China. But if the car makes its way to Indian shores, it might have the existing range of petrol and diesel engines. The India-bound next-gen Verna will take on the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Fiat Linea, VW Vento and the Skoda Rapid.
