New Audi A4 price india

The new 2016 Audi A4 was showcased at the Indian Auto Expo earlier this year and as expected will be the biggest product launch for the German luxury car manufacturer this year. As one of their most important cars, Audi cannot afford to get the details wrong on the new A4 and from what information we have so far, the A4 looks like it is going to be a top contender for the luxury car segment crown in India. So lets get on with the details.

The Audi A4 will get a petrol and a diesel engine. Let us start with the petrol first. The 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder engine is a brand new motor and makes a respectable 190PS of peak power and will be mated to a seven speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox. Expect the petrol A4 to get three variants in order to de-clutter the range.

The diesel of course will be the most popular option and Audi will have two diesel engines on offer in India. The first will be a 2.0-litre four cylinder turbocharged engine that will make 190PF of peak power and 400Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to both a manual 6-speed gearbox and an automatic 7-speed dual clutch unit. The 2.0-litre engine will only come with a front wheel drive option.

The more powerful engine will be the 3.0-litre V6 turbo diesel motor. This engine makes a tasty 272PS of peak power and 600Nm of peak torque. The 3.0-litre will only be available with the Quattro all-wheel-drive option and will only get a 7-speed automatic gearbox. This engine will most probably only be available in a fully loaded variant on the new Audi A4 and will be the top of the line car of the range till the more powerful S4 and the fire-breathing RS4 make it to India

Expect the Audi A4 to make it to India in the next two months which is earlier than we expected. Also, if rumors are to be believed, the new Audi A4 might actually end up undercutting the current generation car in terms of price. Expect the manual gearbox diesel variant to be the cheapest one with prices starting at Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) and going all the way up to Rs 45 lakh for the top of the line 3.0-litre Quattro. At that price and with tech like the smart cockpit LCD screen and best in class space as standard, the A4 does look like a very strong contender to be one of the best cars in its segment.
