National Finals Of The Red Bull Kart Fight Set To Thrill This Weekend

The national champion will get to witness the 2019 Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

 

  • The series aims to give amateurs and upcoming racers a glimpse into the professional side of karting.
  • The grid consists of 23 racers from the city finals, one-day qualifiers and wild-card entries.
  • City qualifiers took place at SMAASH Skykarting in Mumbai and Gurugram from July 12 to October 6, with one-day qualifiers held at Bengaluru, Chennai and Vadodara.
  • City finals were held in August, September and October when the top 20 of the previous month competed for top 3 spots in each city.

The third edition of the Red Bull Kart Fight is all set to reach a thrilling conclusion with the National Finals commencing tomorrow. The finale will be held at the Chicane Circuit in the Leonia Resorts complex at Hyderabad. 

The series aims to provide amateur and upcoming racers a glimpse into the professional aspect of karting, which is the first step in a racer’s career. The finale will consist of the top 3 drivers from each city final held at SMAASH Skykarting in Mumbai and Gurugram from July 12 to October 6, followed by the winner from the one-day qualifiers held at Bengaluru, Chennai and Vadodara. Two wild card entries make up a grid of 23 racers to battle for the national championship.

The national champion will be treated to an all-expense paid trip to witness the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc battle it out at the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix -- the final round of the 2019 F1 Championship.

New Delhi’s Rachit Singhal was the national champion in the previous edition of Red Bull Kart Fight. He got to experience the season finale of last year’s F1 Championship – the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2018 at the Yas Marina Circuit last November. Besides, he also got to experience the world’s fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa at Ferrari World. He also got the opportunity to interact with current Toro Rosso driver, Pierre Gasly, who shared his valuable inputs on racing with the youngster.

After grueling qualification rounds, the third edition of Red Bull Kart Fight National Finals is all set to take place at Leonia Resort in Hyderabad on 18 th October 2019. The Red Bull Kart Fight qualifiers took place at SMAASH Skykarting in Mumbai and Gurgaon from 12 th July to 6 th October followed by city qualifiers in Bangalore, Chennai and Baroda. A total of 23 racers will compete in the National Finals; top-3 for each of the three months (July 12 – October 6) from Mumbai and Gurugram, plus 1 winner each of city qualifiers in Bangalore, Chennai and Baroda and 2 wild card entries.

Based on the fastest lap timings in the city qualifiers, the City Finals took place at the start of the months of August, September and October where the top-20 of the previous month at SMAAASH Mumbai & Gurgaon, competed for the top-3 slots of the month in each city. Red Bull Kart Fight aims to provide amateur racers & racing enthusiasts the chance to “touch” the pro side of karting and get a competitive but fun experience down at the track. It’s an opportunity to earn the prodigious chance of witnessing the world's finest F1 drivers proving their mettle on the challenging Yas Marina Circuit. The Red Bull Kart Fight National Champion 2019 will win a fantastic all-expense paid trip to the enthralling grand finale of this year’s F1 Championship, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2019.
