MV Agusta RVS #1 Breaks Cover

Few days back MV Agusta had released a teaser video of an upcoming motorcycle that looked like a combination of the MV Agusta Dragster and a scrambler bike. Rumour mills were going full blast speculating if the new motorcycle will be an all-new bike or just another special edition. The Italian bikemaker cleared all the confusion surrounding it by unveiling the new “Reparto Veicoli Speciali” or “RVS” program. The new RVS is like a special works division of MV Agusta which gives the MV engineers and designers a free hand to design and build bikes unlike mass production bikes. 

Their first creation - the MV Agusta RVS #1 - is based on the Dragster. The custom bike has been endowed with a cafe racer and scrambler type of design language and we must say it looks wicked. Instead of the traditional oval headlamp, the special bike employs a round adaptable LED headlight which senses the lean angle of the bike and individual LED bulbs illuminate. The fuel tank has been crafted using titanium panels, while the saddle features honeycomb design. The spoke wheels have been sourced from Kineo and the titanium exhaust pipes from SC-Project will ensure that you hear the beast as it arrives before you you admire its looks.

As you can see that titanium and carbon fibre has been used generously to shed some flab of the standard bike making the MV Agusta RVS #1 8kg lighter than the donor bike. Powering the bike is the MV Agusta Brutale 800-derived triple-cylinder engine, but the motor on the RVS has been hand-built and delivers in excess of 150PS while being Euro-IV emission norm compliant. It also gets a special racing kit that includes cover, certificate of origin, quick release fuel-tank cap, racing exhaust, ECU with racing map and a host of titanium parts. 

The MV Agusta RVS series bikes will be offered to only select customers so that they can design and build their dream MV Agusta motorcycle based on their individual taste and like all things elite, the RVS motorcycles will be priced at a hefty premium.
