MV Agusta will ride in the new Brutale 800 in the Indian market tomorrow. The new Brutale 800 was unveiled globally at the 2015 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy and the India launch for the model has been delayed till date due to homologation. Bookings for the Brutale 800 has already started across all MV Agusta dealerships in India and the booking amount is between Rs 4 – 5 lakh. The new MV Agusta Brutale 800 is expected to be priced around Rs 15 lakh with deliveries commencing from next month. The bike will be brought to India as a SKD (semi knocked down) unit.
The styling of the new motorcycle is reminiscent of the older bike but it now features LED DRLs surrounding the iconic oval-shaped headlamp. The sculpted fuel tank, exposed frame, triple stacked exhaust and single-sided swingarm are some of the design elements that make the Brutale 800 a visually arresting motorcycle. One major new design highlight has to be the floating tail section that looks gorgeous. The instrument cluster is an all-digital unit which has been redesigned and the switchgear is also new.
The MV Agusta Brutale 800 is powered by a new Euro 4-compliant 798cc motor. The triple-cylinder engine delivers 110PS at 11,500rpm and a peak torque of 83Nm at 7600rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed transmission and it also gets slipper clutch. As far as electronics are concerned, the new MV Agusta Brutale 800 features 8 traction control levels, 3 ABS levels and engine braking control. There are four riding modes on offer - Rain, Normal, Sport and Custom. The MV Agusta Brutale 800 competes against the Ducati Monster 821, Triumph Street Triple and the Kawasaki Z900, but being a premium motorcycle it has been priced significantly higher than its rivals.
