His team-mate, Danny Webb secured three points with a thirteenth place finish at Assen and is in 22nd position in the standings. This was the best finish for Mahindra Racing and while Schrotter was the first rider to earn points for the team at the Spanish GP where he finished in thirteenth position. Speaking about his best result of the on-going season, Schrotter said, “Danny and I both got a good start, but in the first three or four laps I made a couple of little mistakes and lost touch with the lead group. Then it started to rain a little and I was able to close the gap. I had no idea that the race would be stopped. If I had known, I would have attacked more,” said Schroetter.

Excited and ecstatic, Mahindra Racing’s Team principal Mufaddal Choonia said, “This is an extremely proud moment for all of us at Mahindra. We have broken into the top 10 in just our sixth race. And what makes it more special is that both Marcel and Danny finished in the points.” Going by the team’s development and progress it is evident that Mahindra Racing is getting better at the sport as the championship advances and it stands a fairly good chance of scoring its first ever podium in the season.
