Since its outbreak in China and subsequent spread to Europe, the coronavirus has taken the world by surprise spreading at a rapid pace. India is also fighting hard to contain the spread of the virus by implementing aggressive measures such as a complete 21-day nationwide lockdown. In light of the situation, MG Motor India has announced that it will donate Rs 2 crore as medical aid to the Indian government.

MG Motor India will specifically be donating this amount to health institutions and government hospitals in Gurugram and Halol, where the carmaker’s facilities are located. Half of the amount comes as a contribution from the company, while the other half is a joint effort by its employees who have stepped in and donated this amount. The contribution includes gloves, masks, ventilator, medicines, and other essential equipment.

Meanwhile, MG recently launched the ‘Disinfect And Deliver’ program, wherein every car was sanitized and cleaned before delivery and test drive. MG has also asked its dealers to ensure enhanced insurance cover for its 5,000 employees across India.

MG Motor India currently retails two products: Hector and the all-electric ZS EV. The carmaker is looking forward to launching the full-size SUV, Gloster, to rival the likes of the Ford Endeavour.
