Mercedes-Benz to launch new ‘Edition E’ on 24th February

The ‘Edition E’ will be the last version of the E-Class before Mercedes-Benz launches the next generation later in 2016

Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch of the ‘Edition E’ version of the current selling E-Class on 24th February, 2016. The launch will be held at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Pune. The ‘Edition E’ will the final variant which the German manufacturer will be offering for the current E-Class as the next generation model is expected to be introduced later in 2016.

The ‘Edition E’ series of the executive sedan from the company will be adorned with unique badging on both front fenders and the trunk lid displaying the exclusivity of the car. The ‘Edition E’ variant will get AMG styling on the exteriors with possibility of the single slat grille instead of the two slats. The car is likely to come with the multi-spoke alloy wheels which are offered with the E350 CDI model. Also expect Mercedes-Benz to update the interior with a more stylish and sportier feel to suit the exteriors.

The ‘Edition E’ will be powered by the same diesel engine which powers the E250CDI model. The 2143cc 4-cylinder inline turbocharged motor is capable of producing 201PS of power and 500Nm or torque. The engine is bolted to the 7G-Tronic Plus 7-speed automatic transmission which further powers the rear wheels. The ‘Edition E’ will carry the same ECO Start Stop fuel saving technology provided in other Mercedes-Benz models.

Expect the ‘Edition E’ to be launched in limited units for the Indian market.
