Your latest track-day toy is out and up for grabs. With 367PS of power and a time of under 5 seconds to reach triple digits, this AMG is quite a playful sedan!

Mercedes-AMG C 43 Launch

Mercedes has launched its thirteenth model – the AMG C 43 sedan – in India today. Priced at Rs 74.3 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the sedan threatens the territory of the Audi S5 in the country. The C 43 name has been around for over two decades now, which means that this generation of the performance sedan has been refined and tuned in every aspect. Also, as it carries the '43' moniker, it is not as bonkers and the '63' series, and can be turned and twisted even with average driving talents. Let's break down the sedan and find out what the blend of elegance and sports packs underneath.

Power

Mercedes-AMG C 43 Launch

Coming straight to the point, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine. This unit produces 367PS of power and 520Nm of torque. Mated to a new nine-speed automatic gearbox and combined with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, this sedan achieves the 100kmph mark in 4.8 seconds and reaches an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. The Audi S5, on the other hand, has a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 producing 333PS, but with a slower 0-100kmph time.

Looks and Feel

Mercedes-AMG C 43 - Interiors

Right from the three-pointed star on the nose to the curvy taillamps on the back, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 is almost identical to the standard C-Class. You can tell that it’s the AMG if you look closely and notice the black accents on the body, diamond grille, redesigned bumpers and a larger set of 19-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the AMG in the name gives the sedan a flat bottom steering, aluminium pedals, AMG instrument cluster, and red seatbelts. Other than that, it remains a standard C-Class with the same dashboard featuring an 8.4-inch floating type infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also in the package are AMG ride electronics like AMG DYNAMIC SELECT  - which has five drive modes, AMG RIDE CONTROL, a three-stage ESP and an Eco start/stop feature among many others.

We will be driving the Mercedes-AMG C 43 on the Buddh International Circuit today and will then line it up for a detailed look on the streets. Stay tuned for the first drive review.
