Base diesel variant gets a host of goodies for Rs 25,000 more

Maruti Swift Dzire

The Dzire at times outsells even the Swift and it sells almost two-and-a-half times more than the Honda Amaze. Maruti enjoys its numero uno position in this segment mainly because of its network, but the one competitor that can challenge Maruti for reach across our country is Hyundai. Naturally then, with the Xcent around the corner, Maruti is pulling up its socks for a potentially interesting battle.

Hyundai is known to kit its cars with a long list of features so Maruti is challenging Hyundai by offering a new variant in the diesel Dzire – the LDiX. It is the base diesel variant but with accessories and features worth Rs 25,000 added on to the package. These include integrated turn indicators in the ORVMs, wheel covers and front fog lamps on the outside. A music system with CD and aux-in, four speakers and tweeters, vanity mirror on passenger side and power windows are additions to the Dzire’s interior.

The LDiX costs Rs 6.86 lakh on-road Delhi while the LDi is priced at Rs 6.61 lakh. Since we are already in March, cars manufactured in 2013 will be on sale with heavy discounts. The Dzire too has some deals on last year’s models so if you don’t mind buying an older year model, the 2013 Dzire models could prove to be a tempting deal.
