Mahindra took a long time to bring the Mojo to the market. However, it is now being rumoured that the Indian two-wheeler maker has already begun working on a low-cost variant of its flagship bike. A few spy pictures have revealed a different Mojo being worked upon. This spied Mojo has traditional forks in place of the upside-down forks the currently-on-sale Mojo has. But the changes between the two bikes are not limited to the front suspension only.
In the pictures of the new Mojo variant, the bike has also lost the left side exhaust the current bike has. While these two changes should bring down the price of the Mojo drastically, Mahindra may not just leave the changes to that. It is being rumoured that this new Mojo variant will also lose the twin-barrel headlamp treatment along with daytime-running lamps and will get MRF tyres instead of the premium Pirelli rubber. It is also being rumoured that the low-cost Mojo variant will also lose its electronic fuel injection, as is evidenced by the spy picture.
With so many rumoured changes being made to bring out a new variant of the Mojo, Mahindra may opt to remove the ‘Mojo’ brand from this new bike. However, if all the rumoured changes are made to the Mojo, expect it to be priced quite competitively. Mahindra may price this new bike to undercut rivals such as the Himalayan (Royal Enfield) and the CS400 (Bajaj Auto). However, it is being rumoured that Mahindra will continue to sell the current Mojo alongside the new variant to appeal to riders looking for an upmarket offering.
