Mahindra plans to use their electric vehicle technology in Pininfarina's supercars

Mahindra Halo Concept

The latest news claims that Anand Mahindra, CEO of the homonymous Indian company, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., wants to develop various products for intelligent mobility, which will include the production of a wide range of autonomous electric vehicles. Mahindra has been taking part in Formula E, and the most recent race was held in London. However,  the company has also heavily invested in six automotive brands, four IT brands, and many other companies.

During the discussion with Autocar (UK), Anand Mahindra said that they have plans of sharing expertise between the multiple companies of the Indian conglomerate. While the Formula E race was commencing in London, the CEO of this corporation was engaged in talks with journalists about Pininfarina's future plans, including the designing of its own car. Pininfarina has designed the H2 speed hydrogen-fuelled concept car for a Swiss company named Green GT recently, which was displayed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The Chairman believes that Pininfarina is a brand in itself, and hence it need not only design cars for other brands, but for itself, which has never been done by the design house ever before.

Over the years, Mahindra is preparing to enter the segment of autonomous vehicles and expand its range of electric cars. The carmaker has become a prominent player in the electric car segment with the e2o and the Formula E racing experience, and now Mahindra plans to use their electric vehicle technology in Pininfarina's supercars.
