Mahindra Launches DiGiSENSE 1.0 - An Integrated Technology Platform

It is a platform that empowers Mahindra customers to digitally build knowledge about the performance and location of their mobility vehicles and tractors.

DiGiSENSE is a solution that connects Mahindra vehicles, tractors, trucks and construction equipment to the cloud, which potentially helps customers to enhance their ownership experience. It empowers owners, fleet operators, drivers, dealers and service teams to access vital information over a common platforms which everyone in the Mahindra family can access. It is a first of its kind offering by an Indian OEM (original equipment manufacturer).

DiGiSENSE will help customers track productivity, performance and take stronger control of their businesses. The online platform will empower customers to digitally build knowledge 24X7 about the performance and location of their vehicles. Moreover, drivers can contact emergency breakdown services or pull up a route planner at the touch of a button. Fleet owners and dealers can track the location of their vehicles in real time, while remote diagnostics and reports allow service teams to monitor the vehicle’s health and productivity parameters, on a real time basis.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Pawan Goenka, executive director, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “Digitization is emerging as a key differentiator for business transformation and connected vehicle technology is one such manifestation. At Mahindra we regularly challenge conventional thinking and create disruptions and the launch of DiGiSENSE 1.0 is one such effort to adopt technology to develop new ecosystems.”

The list of features that the first version of DiGiSENSE will have:

Route Planning and Delivery Tracking: Customers can beforehand plan a route for their consignments based on what is suitable for them. While the consignment is on the move, the customer can track where it is and what time the delivery takes place.

Vehicle Utilization Reports: Based on how the fleet of vehicles have been driven for their businesses, customers can pull out reports from DiGiSENSE. It will help them trace where the productivity or performance can be enhanced of the vehicles and eventually help planning the routes and deliveries better.

Trip Optimization: This platform will not only help customers plan the routes but also advice on how a trip can be planned to get the best overall efficiency.

Apart from these features, this digital platform will enable customers to keep a check on machine hour operations of their vehicles. Another feature that will be available is called Geo Fencing. It will benefit the customer as the feature uses GPS (global positioning system) to define geographical boundaries.

Mahindra say that DiGiSENSE will initially be available in the Jeeto and Imperio in the small commercial vehicle space; the Arjun Novo from the tractor range; the Blazo in the heavy commercial vehicle segment; and the Earthmaster from its construction equipment family. It is available as a subscription-based service at an affordable price, and will eventually be available across the entire line-up of Mahindra’s vehicles.
