Mahi Racing had a fruitful outing at Portimao as its riders Fabien Foret and Kenan Sofuoglu finished in second and third place respectively

Podium finishers of World Superstock in Portugal

It was glad tidings for Mahi Racing Team India as both its riders managed to finish on podium in the sixth race of the World Superstock season at Portimao in Portugal. It was specially a good race for Fabien Foret as he was able to pass two riders in the opening stages after starting from fourth place on the grid. Such was the pace of the Mahi Racing bikes that Foret was leading the race in the latter half before eventual race winner Sam Lowes managed to pass him on Turn 11. Foret tried his best to take back the lead but was unsuccessful in his bid and had to settle for a second place finish.

Reigning champion Kenan Sofuoglu had an average outing as compared to his high standards as he finished the race in third position after qualifying in third place. Although he finished third, the Turkish rider set the fastest lap on lap 12 with a 1 minute 45.730 seconds lap. With this result both Mahi Racing riders are tied in second place on the championship standings. Currently the title is lead by British rider Sam Lowes with 120 points who has hit a purple patch with four wins on the trot. Still both the riders don't have much to worry as there will be ample opportunities for them to cut Lowes' lead short with nine more races remaining in the 2013 season.
