Hyundai Grand i10 Facelift

The Grand i10 is all set to get a facelift since its launch in 2013. The updated version will go on sale tomorrow, and we expect prices to range between Rs 4.85 lakh and Rs 6.85 lakh for the petrol version, and between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 7.80 lakh for the diesel.

Design wise, the Grand i10 facelift will borrow cues from its European counterpart. The biggest highlight is Hyundai’s new signature element - the cascading grille. However, the centrally positioned foglamps will be given a miss. They will be positioned conventionally, and feature a strip of daytime running lamps alongside as well. The profile remains virtually unchanged save for the new alloy wheels, whereas the rear features a new bumper which is identical to the Euro-spec vehicle.

The top-spec Asta variant will feature a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Lower trims will feature a 5-inch touchscreen instead. Other added goodies include automatic climate control, a reverse camera and voice recognition. On the space front, expect the new Grand i10 to be no different from the outgoing one.

In terms of mechanicals, the little Hyundai will carry forward its refined 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 83PS and 115Nm. On the other hand, the old 1.1-litre diesel motor has been chucked out in favour of a 1.2-litre unit that produces 75PS and 190Nm. Transmission options remain unchanged - the diesel is available with a manual transmission only, whereas the petrol features an optional automatic variant.
