Every year Wall Street Journal presents technology innovation awards to companies achieving technological breakthroughs, and this year KPIT Cummins has received the honorary award. KPIT Cummins Infosystems Limited is a product engineering and IT consulting partner to global manufacturing corporations. The award has been given to KPIT Cummins in the ‘transport’ category for their plug-in parallel hybrid solution called REVOLO.

REVOLO is a new type of plug-in parallel hybrid solution that converts a vehicle powered by conventional fuel into a hybrid within just four to six hours. The end result is a jump in fuel efficiency by a staggering 35%. With increased environmental concerns, especially in the western world this will mean slashing Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by 30%. REVOLO consists of an electric motor, electronic motor controller, a battery pack, a battery management system and software for controlling the motor and batteries.
Ravi Pandit, Chairman and Group CEO, KPIT Cummins upon winning the award commented by saying, “We’re honoured that Wall Street Journal has recognized KPIT Cummins’ commitment to research and development in technologies that help make green transportation possible. In our efforts towards sustainable and inclusive growth we are developing technology solutions that offer larger long term benefits at a cost that makes it accessible to wider population.”
