Kia India has rolled out the first unit of the Syros from their Anantapur plant. The premium sub-4m SUV has already made waves with 10,258 units pre-booked before its public showcase at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The Syros has impressed by creating its own niche, slotting perfectly between its siblings, the Sonet and the Seltos. Before we get a closer look at the Syros at the Expo, here’s a brief rundown of its details:
The Kia Syros is offered in six broad variants: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O) and is available in eight colour options. It is built on Kia’s K1 platform, combining urban practicality with premium aesthetics and technology.
The Syros features Kia’s signature Digital Tiger Face grille flanked by sleek LED headlights and Starmap LED DRLs, giving it an assertive presence. The bold character lines, muscular wheel arches, and 17-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels add a sporty touch to its silhouette. At the back, the Syros gets stylish LED taillights connected by a light bar, along with a sculpted tailgate and sporty rear bumper.
The Kia Syros is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and a 5-inch touchscreen for climate control, a wireless phone charger, ventilated front and rear seats, four-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and 64-colour ambient mood lighting, a 8-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system and auto up/down functionality for all windows.
Safety is ensured by six airbags as standard, along with ABS with EBD, electronic stability Control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child seat mounts, a 360-degree camera, a dual dashcam setup, an electronic parking brake (EPB) with auto hold and Level-2 ADAS features.
The Kia Syros offers two engine options: a 1-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 120 PS and 172 Nm, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine delivering 116 PS and 250 Nm, available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
The official pricing for the Kia Syros will be announced on February 1, 2025, with an expected price range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
It will take on competitors like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza in the sub-4m SUV segment. Kia has already set the tone for the Syros as a game-changer in its segment with its bold design, innovative features, and impressive pre-booking numbers. As the Auto Expo 2025 approaches, the Syros is all set to make its first public appearance in India and potentially grab the attention of customers' looking for a sub-compact SUV.
