Effective from this month, Kawasaki Motors has revised the price of the Ninja 650. The middleweight touring bike which was previously priced at Rs 5.37 lakh will now carry a price tag of Rs 4.97 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Cheaper by Rs 40,000, this offer is valid only for the 2015 model of the Ninja 650. With this move, Kawasaki wants to make the Ninja 650 a more affordable and attractive proposition for bikers looking forward to upgrading to middleweight models. The announcement of the price revision comes with Kawasaki’s 120th year anniversary celebration.

The Kawasaki Ninja 650 draws its styling cues from other Ninja supersport models which gives the motorcycle its aggressive and sports appearance. The Ninja 650 is built on a twin-tube perimeter design, high-tensile steel frame wrapped in sharp bodywork, giving the bike its distinctive look. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic forks at the front and single offset lay-down shock absorber at the rear. The bike sports dual 300mm petal-type discs with two-piston calipers at the front and a 220mm petal-type disc and single-piston caliper at the rear. Unfortunately, ABS is not available on the Ninja 650 even as an optional extra.

The Ninja 650 is powered by a 649cc parallel-twin, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that is capable of producing 72.1PS of power at 8,500rpm and peak torque of 64Nm at 7,000rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox powering the rear wheel.

With such offers, Kawasaki plans to expand the customer base in India, allowing its customers to enjoy its big capacity, high-performance motorcycles.
