Jeep had recently listed the details of the Indian-spec Grand Cherokee with all its Indian-spec variants on its website. Now, the automaker has now listed all the details regarding the Unlimited variant of the Wrangler. The rough off-roader is sure to impress Indian SUV enthusiasts with its bold looks and renowned off-road ability.

Since there will be only one variant, one would not have the luxury of choice while buying the Wrangler. However, the Unlimited is well equipped with all the latest features, both on the inside and the outside.

Power will be drawn from a 2.8-litre diesel motor which produces a healthy 200PS of power and 460Nm of torque, which starts pouring in at 1600rpm and lasts till 2600rpm. This translates into a commendable torque delivery at very low revs, making it a very easy-going motor for off-road use. It is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, which is hooked to the Command-Trac 4x4 system. The Wrangler’s motor also manages a decent mileage figure of 12.1kmpl and, with 85 litres of fuel tank capacity, it would easily go over 800 kilometres on a full tank.

On the inside, the Wrangler gets a touchscreen Uconnect infotainment system, Alpine all-weather music system, premium and robust interiors with leather seats and steering wheel. The interiors also facilitate easy washing, thanks to drain plugs on the floor.

One can also detach the roof of the Unlimited – along with all the four doors – whenever required, to avoid the doors getting scratched when off-roading. When launched, the Unlimited will be available in both hardtop and soft top versions.

The Wrangler also gets a plethora of safety features, such as front dual-stage airbags, electronic stability control, strong roll bars with cushioning and anti-roll bar. It rides on 17-inch wheels, wrapped in off-road tyres.

Moreover, just like the Grand Cherokee, the Wrangler will make it to Indian shores by the festive season.
