The long awaited Maserati Levante luxury SUV has been revealed and will make it to India soon after its international launch.

Maserati Levante Front

Ahead of its official global debut at the Geneva Auto Show, Maserati has officially revealed its brand new luxury SUV, the Levante. The new Levante will make it to India in the next few months considering the fact that India is a large luxury SUV market. The Levante is set to be priced between the Ghibli and the Quattroporte internationally and is expected to be around the Rs 1.25 crore mark here in India.

In terms of styling, the Levante is typically Maserati with a sleek headlamp and a wide gaping grille with vertical slats. The Maserati trademark portholes or vents on the fender also make an appearance along with a set of trident inspired alloy wheels. The bonnet and the rear fenders both showcase a very muscular design language. The rear is also well styled with tail lamps that look inspired from the GranTourismo and a quad exhaust setup.

The Levant will get both a petrol and diesel engine. The petrol will be a 3.0-litre V6 motor that will be available in two states of tune. The base version will get about 350PS of peak power and will go from 0-100kmph in 6.3 seconds while the faster version will get 450PS of peak power and go from 0-100kmph in 5.2 seconds. The Levante petrol will have a top speed of around 270kmph. The diesel on the other hand will also be a 3.0-litre V6 engine that makes 275PS of peak power. The Maserati Levante diesel will go from 0-100kmph in 6.9 seconds and will top out at about 250kmph.

Maserati Levante side

We think that Maserati’s renewed presence in India with three new dealerships and service centers in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore will most certainly make the Levante a popular buy for Indian customers looking to get something slightly different. The Maserati Levante will go up against the likes of the Porsche Macan/Cayenne along with the likes of sportier SUVs like the BMW X5M/X6M and the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 and the Range Rover Sport amongst others.
