Hyundai Motor India Limited is performing well in the compact SUV segment with the Creta. The SUV was previously available with an automatic variant only in the top-end SX+ diesel model. Now the manufacturer has introduced two new automatic transmission variants for the Creta. The SX+ variant of the petrol model and the S+ variant of the diesel model will be offered with the 6-speed automatic transmission. The prices of the two new variants will be announced shortly by the manufacturer followed by an official statement.

The petrol model of the Hyundai Creta is powered by a 1.6-litre Dual VTVT four-cylinder engine producing 123PS of power and 151Nm of torque. The diesel model is offered with a 1.4-litre CRDi and 1.6-litre CRDi VGT engine option. The smaller pot produces 90PS of power with 218Nm of torque while latter registers 128PS of power and 259Nm of torque. The 1.4-litre diesel variant is continue to be offered only with a manual transmission.

The new SX+ petrol automatic variant of the Creta will have the same features as provided in the corresponding diesel variant. However, in the lower spec S+ diesel automatic variant of the compact SUV, it misses out on features like projector headlamps, chrome grille, chrome door handles, smart key with push button start, automatic climate control, electrically folding OVRMs, and rear viper.

With the introduction of the new automatic variants, the company aims to make the AT variant of the Creta more affordable, as buyers have started to look for automatic transmission vehicles in India too.
