Honda’s product range of dual purpose two-wheelers will soon be reinforced by the addition of the X-ADV adventure scooter whose production has now been confirmed by the manufacturer. Honda had released teaser videos of the adventure scooter before making official announcement about its production. The crossover scooter, in its production ready avatar, is scheduled to be showcased at the upcoming 2016 EICMA motor show on November 8. Honda had previously displayed the scooter as the ‘City Adventure’ concept at the 2015 EICMA motor show.
The X-ADV adventure scooter is reportedly expected to draw its power from a 670cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor that also does duty in the NC700X, the NM4 and several other motorcycles by Honda in the same category. Although Honda hasn't disclosed many details yet, it has however been confirmed that the X-ADV will sport a DCT (Dual-Clutch Transmission) like other models in its range. Other features to come along with the package are LED headlamps, 5-stage adjustable windscreen, storage space under the seat and dual-purpose tyres. The adventure scooter will have an upright riding position to cater better visibility, while the longer suspension travel will allow the X-ADV to tackle different terrains.
Following the display of the new crossover scooter at the upcoming motor show, the X-ADV is likely to join Honda’s product range by 2017.
