The Honda Civic sedan has been spied testing in Thailand. The car seen here will be the same car that will be launched in India next year.

Honda Civic Sedan

Honda unveiled the next generation Civic last year in the form of the Civic Coupe and a hatchback version of the new car is expected to make its way to the Geneva Auto show. That said, neither of these cars will make it to India. What will make it to India will be the ASEAN spec sedan which has been spotted testing in Thailand.

The new car will come with Honda’s new Flying H Design that will be similar to the likes of their recent launches in India. The new car will feature slim headlamps and a large chrome grille which will make the car look aggressive and appealing. The new car will also have large 17-inch wheels and a set of LED tail lamps at the rear.

On the interior front, expect a stylish dashboard like the one available on the Coupe version with a touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with a dual zone climate control setup. In terms of space, expect a lot legroom and headroom at the rear and a large boot.

In terms of engines, the Civic will get both a petrol and a diesel motor. We expect the 1.5-litre TVEC turbo engine to make its debut in India with the Civic along with a 1.5-litre or 1.6-litre diesel engine. The car will get both a manual and a CVT automatic option.

Although there is no real news about the Civic sedan confirmed for India, we expect a 2017 launch with a Rs 13-18 lakh price range. The Civic will go up against the Toyota Corolla, Volkswagen Jetta and the Chevrolet Cruze amongst others.
