Domestic sales cross the 20,000 mark for Honda due to high demand for the Amaze, City and Jazz

Honda Car sales in October 2015

Honda Cars India maintains its high growth path for the month of October. The company posted a rise in sales of 52 percent, clocking 20,166 units compared to 13,242 units in October 2014. High festive demand for Honda cars was attributed to the spike in sales.

Speaking on the company’s sales performance, Mr Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President – Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The festive demand has led to a strong growth for HCIL during October where-in we recorded our highest monthly sales of this fiscal year.  We are thankful to our customers for their great response and support and hope to continue this momentum.”

The City was last month’s best seller for Honda with 7,022 units rolling off the assembly line. The Amaze shows no signs of slowing down either, clocking 6,971 units in the same period. The Jazz hasn’t been the outright success in its segment however, still trailing the Elite i20 but Honda will take the 4,496 unit sales figures gladly. Demand for the Mobilio has shrunk to just 770 and that considering it’s festive season spells ominous signs for the MPV.

Honda Cars India registered a cumulative domestic sales of 1,17,383 units during the period April - October 2015 as against 1,01,442 units for the corresponding period last year marking a growth of 16 percent.
