Honda is set to increase the Amaze's output by adding an extra shift at its Greater Noida plant from November 2013 to help reduce the backlog and delivery periods for the sedan

Honda Amaze

Seems like the Amaze is just the car Honda needed to lift its sagging sales and spirit. A little over three months have passed since the sub-four-metre sedan’s launch and already it’s racked up some ‘Amaze-ing’ sales figures. Sales for May and June stood at a combined 11,001 units. However, with demand far outstripping supply, come November Honda will increase the Amaze’s production by adding an extra shift at its Greater Noida factory.

Currently, the Amaze’s order backlog runs in to an estimated 20,000 units with a wait time of about four to five months. Honda has not specified how much of an increase in output it plans to bring about though at present it builds a total of 440 units of the Amaze per day. By employing an extra shift, Honda hopes to cut down the waiting period to 2-3 months. The company also confirmed that the Amaze’s production hike will not compromise the production of its other models.
