[Update: Hero MotoCorp has launched the XPulse 200, XPulse 200T and the Xtreme 200S. Head here for the launch story]

  • The spotted bike looks production ready hinting at an imminent launch.
  • Will be powered by the same motor as the Xtreme 200.
  • Is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh to 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Hero XPulse’s launch has been long overdue. However, recent spy images suggest that the bike is ready to hit the roads pretty soon. Spotted at the Big Rock Motopark facility outside Bengaluru for a commercial, the XPulse was being ridden by Hero MotoSports’ very own Dakar rider, CS Santosh.

While the production-ready XPulse 200 looks almost identical to the bike showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo last year, it gets a few cosmetic changes like a blacked-out sump guard and an exhaust heat shield. Aside from this, the bike features LED lights at both ends, long-travel suspension (front and rear travel in brackets), a high-mounted exhaust and a tall front beak. Other notable features include a full-digital instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation and a USB charging port for added convenience. To aid its off-road capabilities, the Xpulse 200 comes equipped with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres.

The bike draws power from the same 200cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine as the Xtreme 200. It dishes out 18.4PS of power at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission.

Weirdly enough, there’s no news about the XPulse 200T which was a touring version showcased at EICMA 2018 alongside four more concepts. The Hero XPulse 200 is expected to be launched soon and is likely to be priced between Rs 1 lakh and 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, the Hero XPulse 200 will be the most affordable adventure tourer available in the Indian market replacing the Royal Enfield Himalayan, which retails for Rs 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
