In sync with its latest design philosophy, the 2017 Volvo V40 will get new headlights, a grille and minor changes on the inside

2017 Volvo V40 Thor Hammer Headlights

Last week Volvo announced that they will exhibit the 2017 facelifted V40 at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. But even prior to the Geneva Motor Show, the Swedish car maker has unveiled the car in pictures.

This new model is a nip and tuck job of the current Volvo V40. To ensure that the 2017 V40 is in sync with the rest of the Volvo line-up, this one too will get the Thor’s Hammer LED headlights like the ones we have already seen on the XC90 and the S90. Volvo also mentioned that the V40 will sport the LED headlights as standard equipment. Aside from the headlights, the facelifted V40 will also come with the new grille and the updated Volvo Iron Mark logo.

On the inside, the refreshed V40 gets a new City Weave upholstery which looks identical to the one fitted on the Concept Estate. The R-Design and Inscription models will come with numerous customisable options like charcoal/blond steering wheel, panel trims, and new tread plates too. To add to the overall appeal, the new V40 will also come with contrast stitching in the door inserts. The facelifted 2017 V40 will also get a black headliner as optional fitment. The MY2017 V40 also brings with it an updated Volvo on Call smartphone app with that gives the owner a wide array of in-car features.

Volvo has also worked on the D2 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit and it is now a less pollutant than before. Volvo will take the wraps off the new V40 on March 1 along with the V90.
