General Motor appoints Kaher Kazem to handle operations in India which were previously handled by Arvind Saxena

General Motors India will have a change in the top level management with the start of the new year. Kaher Kazem will replace Arvind Saxena who has been the president and managing director for General Motor India Pvt Ltd. for almost two years. Saxena’s journey as managing director with the American manufacturer has been from August 2012 to February 2014. The new managing director, Kaher Kazem, has been with GM for 1995. Kazem had moved to India from Uzbekistan in August this year to handle the position of chief operating officer. Kazem will officially acquire the new role of managing director for operation in India from 1st January, 2016.

Speaking at the event, Stefan Jacoby, chief of GM International whose operations include those in India said, "GM is committed to India for the long term. Kaher's proven track record will enable us to deliver."

General Motors, which have hitherto lacked in providing competitive products to the India market, is planning an aggressive sales strategy from the coming year. The car manufacturer also announced plans to invest 1 billion for future products in the coming years to make India GM’s global export hub. The carmaker also mentioned that it will launch 10 new offering to the market in the span of 5 years. In the coming years, analyst believe India will attain the position of third-largest passenger vehicle market after China and United States by 2020.
