The Suzuki Gixxer SF gets fuel injected but the power output remains the same

Suzuki Gixxer SF Fi

Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the fuel-injected (Fi) Gixxer SF which was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo earlier this year. As of now, bookings are now available at select dealerships in nine cities across the nation. The Gixxer SF Fi has already arrived at dealerships in Mumbai and is available at a price of Rs 99,662 (ex-showroom). The bike is also expected to be available in dealerships across Delhi and Bengaluru by the end of this month.

The bike SF Fi is only available in the MotoGP edition colour scheme. The 220mm rear disc comes as standard, and as of now, the only addition is the fuel injector. Speaking about the aesthetic appeal of the bike -- visually it has not changed much and looks identical to the standard MotoGP edition Gixxer SF, except that it gets the 'Fi' badging on the left side of the front fairing.

Mechanically, the Gixxer SF Fi is powered by the same 155cc petrol, air-cooled engine which delivers 14.8PS of power and 14Nm of torque. However, the fuel injector will only improve the engine response and also help improve the ride quality.

Features such as 41mm front forks, 7-step adjustable rear mono shock, fully digital instrument cluster, sporty dual-port exhaust muffler, 3-split-spoke alloy wheels and a bulky 140/60 section rear tyre are shared between the standard model and Gixxer SF Fi. The fuel injected Gixxer will be around Rs 8,000 - 9,000 costlier as compared to the standard MotoGP edition with rear disc brake.
