The fifth and final round of the 13th JK Tyre FMSCI National Rotax Max Karting Championship was held at Mohite Racing Academy in Kolhapur. Being the final round, the competition was fierce as all racers had upped their ante to give their best shot at scoring maximum points. After a challenging Saturday, Ricky Donison yet again managed to continue his winning streak by finishing on pole position in both the races. The double win allowed Donison to leap ahead of championship leader Vishnu Prasad to claim the title.
Representing BPC Racing, Donison, who compete in the Senior Max category, had his target set on the championship trophy from the start of the final race itself. As the race began, he quickly started to create a gap right from the first lap. He also recorded the fastest lap timings of 51,717 seconds in the fifth lap of the race. With 413 points in his pocket by the end of the season, it is his third consecutive championship win. There was a fierce battle involving Dhruv Mohite, who was in the second position, followed by Nayan Chatterjee and Vishnu Prasad. Both the racers from MECO Racing were putting immense pressure on Dhruv which unfortunately ended with Vishnu forcing Dhruv off the track, which ended with both out of the second place. This opportunity was grabbed by Nayan, who leaped ahead and secured second position in the race. However, in the championship points, Nayan had to settle for third place with 397 points while Vishnu Prasad acquiring overall 408 points completed the championship in second position.
The Micro Max category also had its own share of excitement as Shahan Ali was equally unstoppable in the championship.
