Fiats new entry level hatchback which has been given the Mobi moniker has been spied without disguise for the first time. The car will make its debut in Brazil in the next few weeks and will make its way to India eventually.

Fiat Mobi city car

With a push towards emerging markets and a first time car buyer, the Fiat will soon launch its brand new car, the Mobi in one of its biggest markets, Brazil. The new Fiat Mobi will be an entry level of A/A+ segment car globally and will be available with a petrol engine in Brazil but with a diesel engine option for international markets like India.

Globally, the Mobi was expected to get the Topolino moniker but we are guessing Fiat has kept it aside for a future, more fashionable product offering. The new Mobi will be launched in April in Brazil and will be aimed mainly at a first time buyer. The new Mobi will be based below the Uno BR in Brazil but will share most of the interior with its slightly larger cousin.

In terms of design, the new Mobi will be a high-boy design featuring wide wheel arches and a prominent tail lamp and headlamp. The typically Fiat 4-spooke alloy wheels will also make an appearance. In profile, the Mobi actually looks like an evolution of the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Celerio or the A-Star, especially in the blue color seen here.

In terms of engines, the Fiat Mobi will be available with a 1.0-litre, four engine that will make 73PS of peak power and will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of a diesel engine, expect the car to get the 1.3-litre multijet in the 75PS state of tune when it eventually makes its way to India. Talking about an India launch, do not expect this car to make it to our shores anytime soon, with a possible launch date of 2018 if Fiat India decides to bring it at all.
