Ferrari V8 bags Best Performance Engine accolade second year running

The 4.5-litre, naturally aspirated V8 engine from Ferrari has won the Best Performance Engine award for the second year running at the 2012 International Engine of the Year Awards

Ferrari’s thoroughbred dry-sump, flat-crank, 90-degree V8 took the honour of the Best Performance Engine of the Year at the 2012 International Engine of the Year Awards for the second consecutive time. The jury for the awards is made of a panel of 35 motoring journalists from various countries using their subjective knowledge, taking into account characteristics such as performance and driveability.

This V8 engine in the 458 Italia and Spider that continues to attract critical acclaim worldwide. The 458 Italia has already received nearly 40 international awards since its global launch. Establishing itself as a benchmark in the sports car category, the engine that is now also fitted in the 458 Spider also bagged five major international awards immediately after its launch.
