Ducati SuperSport and SuperSport S To Launch At The Intermot

Italian manufacturer Ducati showcased its upcoming bike in a closed-room preview at the 2016 World Ducati Week (WDW) in Misano. The Ducati SuperSport was, however, accidentally revealed during the preparations of the preview. No person was allowed to take pictures of the bike at the spot where it was being previewed. However, someone managed to take a snap of the bike while it was being taken inside the room. Now, Ducati has officially announced that it is going to unveil the SuperSport along with SuperSport S at the upcoming Intermot event on October the 4th in Cologne, Germany.

As described by Paolo Quattrino, product manager, Ducati, at the 2016 WDW, the Ducati SuperSport 939 has been built around the chassis of the Ducati Monster. The SuperSport has been tweaked a little so that it can go around corners easily.

Mechanically, the SuperSport is powered by the Hypermotard's 939cc, liquid-cooled, L-twin which has been altered with electronic tuning. 80 per cent of the components in the engine are new. To be precise, even the mountings have been changed to use the motor as a stressed element in the frame.

Ducati has confirmed that both the bikes (Supersport and SuperSport S) are going to be unveiled at the 2016 INTERMOT motorcycle show in Germany which is taking place next month. The SuperSport will be a sports tourer which will have a much-relaxed riding position and performance. Once launched, the bike will go up against the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Suzuki GSX-S1000F.
