According to recent reports out of Japan, Ducati may be planning to launch a smaller Ducati Scrambler as early as next month at the EICMA show.

Ducati is planning to unveil 9 models at the EICMA show next month. The smaller version of the Scrambler could well be one of those models.

According to one report, the Ducati Scrambler 400 will retain the same chassis as well as styling of its larger sibling. The Scrambler 400 will be powered by a 400cc L-twin engine, and is likely to be the entry-level offering from Ducati worldwide.

The Ducati Scrambler 400 will be targeted primarily at Asian and South American markets, but going by the increased interest in small to mid displacement bikes worldwide, the Scrambler 400 could well find a lot of takers in Europe as well.

The Ducati Scrambler is currently on sale in India at Rs 6.78 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Like the current bikes sold in India, the Scrambler 400 is also likely to be assembled in Thailand and brought to India. Priced right, the Ducati Scrambler 400 will certainly generate a lot of interest in India. Keep watching this space for more updates on the new Ducati Scrambler and other reports from EICMA.
