At the Motor Bike Expo in Verona Ducati unveiled the draXter concept motorcycle that was designed by the Advanced Design arm of Ducati’s in-house design team

Ducati draXter

The Ducati XDiavel is one striking looking motorcycle. In fact, it even was adjudged the most beautiful motorcycle at the 2015 EICMA Motorcycle Show held in Italy. Despite all these laurels, the design team at Bologna weren’t content and have unveiled a special concept based on the power cruiser in the form of the Ducati draXter. The new concept Ducati motorcycle was unveiled at the Motor Bike Expo in Verona. According to the Italian bikemaker, the Ducati draXter concept is what the motorcycle would have been if a sporty performance cruiser motorcycle was to be made. And as the name suggests, it is what the XDiavel would look like if asked to scorch the quarter mile at a drag strip.

Ducati draXter rear

The Ducati draXter was built by the Ducati Design Center’s Advanced Design team and we must say they have done a great job. The headlamp has been binned while the mudguard has been beefed up to add more visual drama. The gargantuan rear section Pirelli slick tyre looks to be a straight lift from a race car and hikes the appeal of the motorcycle massively. The underbelly has also grown in size with the draXter branding and the 90 decal signifying the fact that the Italian brand has completed 90 years of existence in 2016 (it started off as a radio component manufacturer in 1926). Mechanical changes on the Ducati draXter include the top-spec suspension and braking system which have been borrowed from the Ducati 1299 Panigale. The custom exhaust has been developed by Termignoni and given its proportion there is no doubt in our minds that the Ducati draXter would be one loud machine.
