On this auspicious Dussehra, Mahindra has officially begun deliveries of the Thar Roxx. The popular offroader had clocked 1.76 lakh bookings in the first hour alone, so if you stand lucky you might have the SUV parked in your garage anytime now. Well, you better be lucky as the usual waiting period is bound to be high considering the long queue. If you haven't placed your order yet, here's a quick overview of everything you need to know about the car:
The Mahindra Thar Roxx is available in six broad variants: MX1, MX3, AX3L, MX5, AX5L and AX7L. As for colours, you get seven shades to choose from: Stealth Black, Deep Forest Black, Tango Red, Everest White, Nebula Blue, Battleship Grey and Burnt Sienna (Brown). Do note that all the options are paired with a black roof.

The interior gets two themes: the original Ivory theme and a new dark Mocha Brown theme. If you are eyeing the darker hue, the deliveries for that will commence sometime at the end of January 2025.

Feature-wise, the Thar Roxx comes loaded with amenities like a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, cruise control and ventilated front seats.

Safety-wise, it has six airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill-descent control, front and rear parking sensors and ADAS.

The Thar Roxx is being offered with two engine options, along with both rear-wheel and four-wheel drivetrain options. However, the 4x4 drivetrain is limited to the diesel engine option only. We’ve listed the detailed powertrain specifications for both choices below.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the rear-wheel-drive variants and between Rs 18.79 lakh to Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the four-wheel-drive variant. It rivals the Force Gurkha 5-door and is a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. As per price, you can also consider it against compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
