Datsun Extends Production redi-GO SPORT Due To Popular Demand

It has not even been a month since Datsun India launched the redi-GO SPORT in India. Being a limited edition model, the car generated higher demand than anticipated by the company. With the initial production of the car limited to 1000, all units have been sold out. Now, in order to address the high demand, Datsun has announced the production of the redi-GO SPORT to be extended by 800 more units. Deliveries of the vehicle are scheduled to commence from next month. 

Commenting on the announcement, Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India, said: “The Datsun redi-GO SPORT version has generated more demand than anticipated and we are happy to announce that the initially planned 1,000 units have been sold out in less than a month. To meet the high demand and delight our customers, we are announcing an increase in production of the car with a further 800 units.” 

“Datsun redi-GO has redefined the value proposition offered to young achievers in India. Now with the success of the Datsun redi-GO SPORT, we plan to continuously update and refresh the redi-GO range in India to offer our customers a unique value proposition,” he further added.

The redi-GO SPORT edition comes with nine additional features that accentuate the exclusivity of the car. On the exterior it gets bold black stripes, black painted wheel caps with red accents, black painted front grille and a roof spoiler. The interiors come with all-black interiors with red highlights. It also gets remote keyless-entry, Bluetooth audio system and rear parking sensors.

The Datsun redi-GO SPORT edition carries a price tag of Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is positioned above the top-spec variant. The limited edition redi-GO SPORT is available in three colour shades: Ruby, White and Grey.
