This year Yamaha introduced the much-awaited YZF-R15 and it shocked the competition with its brilliant handling and performance that could challenge the likes of the Pulsars and Karizmas.

What you see here is the next offering from Yamaha India in the 150cc segment, called the FZ16. Scheduled for launch next week, the FZ16 will be powered by a single cylinder 4-stroke air-cooled motor. We are guessing that it will be a torquey engine and though it won’t feature state-of-the-art technology like on the R15, it will be adequate enough to compliment the aggressive styling. The street-fighter looks and in-your-face appeal of the FZ16 can charm even those who have already fallen for the YZF-R15.

The meaty tank is adorned with smooth curves while the headlight is clearly borrowed from the bigger Fazer. The protruding shrouds on the sides and the bulbous exhaust make it a complete looker. Other features include all-black engine, mono-shock rear suspension and sporty saddle. Interestingly, the entire rear tail-light assembly is mounted on the rear mudguard allowing the tail-piece to remain uncluttered. The FZ16 incorporates a single down-tube frame with the engine acting as the stress-member. The five-spoke alloy wheels look uber-chic and the front brake-calipers painted golden complete the look on this hooligan. The seating position is sporty with rear-set pegs and flatter handlebars. Expect this naked to kill all other nakeds.
