Chevrolet Enjoy to be launched today!

Chevrolet’s Enjoy MPV is a rather clever package for India’s value-conscious market. The Enjoy is smaller than the likes of the Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo and Nissan Evalia but larger than the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. Powered by a set of petrol and diesel engines that are smaller than its bigger MUV rivals, the Chevrolet Enjoy is expected to be significantly more affordable and that is something that will play a crucial role on the sales chart. 

Another factor that will keep the Enjoy’s prices in check are its no-frills interior that offer basic comforts like power steering, power windows, a stereo and air conditioning even on the top-end LTZ variant. Safety features aboard the Enjoy LTZ include anti-lock brakes, electronic brake force distribution and dual front airbags. 

The Enjoy’s spacious cabin can seat seven or eight people depending on the middle row being specced with a bench seat or captain seats. Chevrolet will launch the Enjoy with a total of six variants -- three diesel and three petrol to take on everything from the Ertiga to the Innova. 

The engines, a four-cylinder 1.3-litre diesel motor and a four-cylinder 1.4 litre petrol motor developing 77.5PS and 104PS of power respectively, don’t boast of much performance but where they should stand out is on the economy front. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.

All in all, the Enjoy with its durable, spacious interiors and engines with limited performance will suit the taxi market well, while also making for a rather decent and affordable vehicle for large families. 

All Chevy has to do to ensure its success is to give it an attractive price tag that can crack the likes of the Innova, Xylo and Ertiga in the taxi market.
