The company is set to launch the electric scooter next year

  • The Blacksmith B3 electric scooter is powered by a 5kW motor.
  • The manufacturer claims that the B3 has a range of 120km.
  • It comes with built-in GPS for turn-by-turn navigation.
  • People, there’s yet another electric scooter coming your way! This time though, it’s from Chennai. Blacksmith, the company that teased its first electric motorcycle, the B2, a few months ago, has now shared a new teaser of their upcoming e-scooter. Called the B3, it looks like a big and brawny version of the Vespa. And in a sea of curvy scooters, the B3 could turn more heads whilst standing still.

As of now, the company has not shared official images of the B3, so all you have to do is stare at this blacked-out image! However, after turning the brightness on our screen to the max, we can see that the e-scooter gets LED lights at the front and back, a massive seat, a windscreen and a backrest. Additionally, it gets a digital instrument cluster that displays turn-by-turn navigation apart from the regular trove of information.

The electric scooter is powered by a 5kW continuous electric motor which has a rated power output of 19.7PS of power and 96Nm of torque. The company says that the 72V lithium-ion battery in the electric scooter is the same as the B2. The scooter comes with a claimed range of 120km and a top speed of 120kmph.

There’s no word about the price yet, but we expect it to cost north of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). So, when the company launches the B3 next year, would you prefer something brawny like it or rather choose the elegant Ather 450? Let us know in the comments section below
