BMW Motorrad India is yet to confirm if the recall applies for units sold on our shores too

  • BMW Motorrad has cited faulty brakes as the reason behind the recall.
  • Apart from the G310R and G310GS, BMW has also recalled the C400X.
  • The front and rear brake calipers by ByBre could corrode, which could impact performance.
  • BMW has issued a recall for the G 310 R, G 310 GS and the C 400 X in various international markets due to a possible fault with the brake calipers. The company says the front and rear brake calipers on these models are prone to corrosion, which could cause friction inside the bore. This could seriously impact the stopping power of these bikes. The brake calipers of the above mentioned models are produced by Brembo’s Indian subsidiary ByBre.

As of now, only models sold in international markets have been recalled and BMW Motorrad India is yet to confirm if the G310 twins sold in India would be called in for repairs. If the manufacturer does issue a recall, expect your dealer to contact you. Alternatively, you could also receive an email from BMW Motorrad regarding the recall.

In other news, BMW has updated the G 310 R and G 310 GS for MY2020. Both bikes now get new decals and paint options. However, it is yet to be confirmed if BMW Motorrad will bring the updated bikes to our shores.
