Will be powered by the same engine that powers the KTM 390 Duke. Launch is expected to be held in August

Bajaj Pulsar CS400

Bajaj Auto had showcased the Pulsar CS400 at the 2014 Auto Expo as a concept model. Now, near-production models of the concept are being spotted as the company carries out tests prior to its official launch. The latest spied image of the CS400 reveals a lot of details regarding the new offering from Bajaj.

In terms of looks, the production vehicle will carry pretty much the same design lines as the concept model displayed at the expo. The bike will feature a full LED headlight and tail light assembly. One unique feature of the CS400 is the speedometer and gear indicator that is located on the fuel tank while the other information is displayed on an all-digital unit.

Moving to the cycle parts, the test mule was equipped with conventional telescopic forks instead of the USDs on the concept bike. Also, the petal brakes are equipped with dual channel ABS system which will be standard considering the new norms for two-wheelers. The wheels are the same as the ones used on the concept bike and are likely to be seen on the production model.

The Bajaj CS400 will be powered by the same 375cc liquid-cooled single cylinder engine used in the KTM 390 Duke. However, the engine might be slightly detuned from the existing power figures and will also feature Bajaj's triple-spark technology, with different engine cover on the sides. The motor will come mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox.

The CS400 is likely to be introduced in August and will be priced in the sub-2 lakh mark.
