While Audi became the official automotive sponsor and vehicle provider for the Television Academy for the 68th Annual Emmy Awards, it also partnered with Airbnb, an online marketplace to find accommodation worldwide, to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime driving and living experience. Under this partnership, Audi and Airbnb will be hosting seven guest stays in October 2016. From September 18, a new set of dates will be released for booking each day through September 24, 2016.
The partnership includes a three-days stay on a remote stretch of land near Scotty’s Junction in Nevada, USA. Named as the Rondolino Residence, the location has no address, with only coordinates on a map to locate it. With eighty acres of land to themselves in an isolated desert landscape, guests will have a fully fueled Audi R8 Coupe to drive around. The booking includes a luxury chauffeur from Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, all meals, prepared by a personal chef, and evening entertainment/activities.
“Once again, Audi is honored to support television’s brightest stars during its biggest night,” said Loren Angelo, vice president of marketing, Audi of America. “What better stage to introduce our marketing partnership with Airbnb than the Emmys. Pairing an acclaimed and architecturally stunning home with the award-winning Audi R8 offers fans the chance to experience the ultimate full-throttle driving fantasy.”
“Travel on Airbnb is all about experiences that liven up your sense of adventure and ultimately become a way of life,” said Airbnb CMO, Jonathan Mildenhall. “We love that Audi shares that same spirit and are excited to offer this experience with them to those who live to drive, live to travel and live to adventure."
The Audi R8 is the most expensive car that the German automaker has on offer. The V10 plus variant churns out 610PS of power and 560Nm of torque. That means a sprint from standstill to 100kmph is completed in 3.2 seconds. In India, it is available with a price tag of Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).
